JavaScript Job: Product Designer

Hi – my name is Sarah Bradley; I am the Design Lead at MetaCompliance. We are an award-winning provider of security awareness training, based in Ireland with an international customer base. Due to continued success we are excited to be expanding our Product Design team in Portugal.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Product Designer who can work closely with partners in Product and Engineering to deliver valuable solutions that meet user needs and business goals. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the direction of design at our fast-growing company, while solving interesting problems in the eLearning and compliance space. The Role:

• Work closely with Product and Engineering to define and prioritize problems and identify areas of opportunity.
• Connect and interact with our customers to gain insights and strengthen and improve our products.
• Identify and articulate user needs, build prototypes to test internally and through external user research, aggregate and analyze the data, and refine solutions in the face of data and other findings.
• Define user flows, site maps, templates, interaction models, design system components, prototypes, and any other artefact that might be useful.
• Translate complex ideas into delightful, usable, engaging practical user experiences, that meet user needs and drive business goals.
• Proactively give and seek feedback from other designers and stakeholders to continually raise our bar for quality.
• Adapt designs based on feedback from stakeholders, data research and user feedback, generating multiple explorations and iterations.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues on the design team and in engineering to ensure that work is implemented as intended.
• Contribute to design systems and component libraries.

The Ideal Person:

• 3-5 years of industry experience as a user experience designer, product designer, or similar design-related role.
• 3-5 years of experience working in direct collaboration with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• You have an excellent portfolio displaying best-in-class work, that demonstrates your ability to turn broad conceptual ideas into valuable solutions that meet user needs and business goals.
• You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
• You have strong knowledge of user experience principles and techniques as well as excellent visual design skills.
• You have experience owning large-scale projects, communicating timelines, and executing with minimal supervision.
• You can work in a flexible way and adapt your design process to the specific needs of each project.
• People enjoy working with you. You have a positive attitude and are open to others’ ideas and perspectives.
• You understand technical constraints, knowing how to find alternate solutions, and can collaboratively work with Engineering to achieve team goals.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Bonus Points:

• Experience coding functional prototypes in HTML/CSS/JavaScript
• Experience designing for native mobile (iOS or Android) platforms
